We, an organized non-profit group of international people from the Second Life LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) community including friends family and allies, commit to the mission of organizing, supporting, and facilatating "The Second Pride Festival" in Second Life,through the organization of various events throughout the term of the committee to raise funds in order to hold this Festival.
Our right to act is based on our freedom to assemble, to celebrate who we are, people who have risen above hatred, misunderstanding and ridicule from past social injustice. "The Second Pride Festival" will provide the venues that enable us to assemble as a people with Pride from all countries around the world.
Founding principles
Open Membership: The Second Pride group is open to all Second Life residents, without regard to status, handicap, race, color, religious belief, sex, age, national origin, citizenship status, marital status, sexual orientation, or virtual representation.
Self-Direction: The Second Pride group is a democratic organization. Led by the elected Second Pride Committee, helped by the Second Pride Ambassadors, and responsive to Second Pride members through the Membership Representative chairperson in the committee.
