STUDENT VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
The Student Volunteer Program (SVP) is designed to provide hands on immersive volunteer experience for students at various levels. Many educators are interested in adding a social justice aspect to their course curriculums. We provide a space for learning through creative exhibits in which students will work with organizations committed to human rights, social and economic justice, respect for nature and a culture of peace.
Students will be able to design, create, and implement their ideas, working with the group and mentors. Four Bridges will provide mentors for both the students and educator regarding basic virtual world skills and in more areas.
Once enrolled in the program the student’s skills, passions and interests will be evaluated and matched with either an organization or a program. We will evaluate the educator’s desired outcome and work together to design a program suitable to the needs of all.
SVP DEPARTMENTS
While the projects vary semester to semester, these are some areas that are being developed as permanent projects. For a current list of projects, check here or at the 4B Resource Center in world. Contact millay Freschi in Second Life or email millayfreschi@gmail.com. These projects are available at anytime for your students to join.
MEDIA
We are developing a media department in partnership with an SL media station. The student volunteers serve as interns in either the Four Bridges media department or with the partner. Their role is designed based on the desired outcome, the student’s interest and the departments’ needs.

ART - CURATION and EXHIBITION
The Four Bridges Project is committed to the promotion of the Arts as a means of expression and illustration of society’s ills and potential. We are committed to bringing the community dynamic exhibits based around particular themes. Volunteers will work with community curators to build and present exhibits.

GROUP PARTICIPATION, LEADERSHIP
The Four Bridges Project member organizations are registered nonprofits committed to the Four Bridges principles. The organizations maintain a presence in Second Life to raise awareness of their missions. The student may work with the group leaders on particular events or projects. Some of the responsibilities might include making posters, marketing, obtaining entertainment and arts, setting up exhibits, etc.

ENTERTAINMENT

The Four Bridges Project holds regular events to encourage collaboration between the community members. A student volunteer may elect to work directly with the Four Bridges Project on specific events or with a particular 4B organization. The planning consists of advertising, obtaining musicians or presenters, set up, hosting and recruiting volunteers. The student will work directly with an experienced Four Bridges organizer.
UNIVERSAL DESIGN
We are always looking for exciting ways to involve students in an international and interdiscilplinary setting. The Universal Design project gives students an opportunity to use their skills together on a community project. We will help them bring their own ideas to fruition. This department includes environmental engineering, sustainability, community building, community renewal, and projects related to design. We will work with organization in world (Virtual Ability, etc) on accessibility issues and design. This is an exciting program that can be tailored to your specific desired outcomes as well as the student's own interests. Our current exhibitions in progress include rooftop gardening, sustainable shopping and community redesign.

Whatever your desired outcomes or your ideas about ways to enhance your students ' experiences of Second Life and virtual environments, we are happy to see what we can do!
